Simply Super Saturated Solids!!
WHAT IS BLOCK LOTTO?
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
- A pattern is posted on the website and presented at a meeting to make a fun quilt block. It will be displayed one month before it’s due at a PHXMQG meeting.
- You make as many as you want!
- Bring blocks to a meeting and you get one raffle ticket/one chance to win for each block. (Quantity gets you more tickets: 5 blocks = 6 chances!)
- Someone goes home with all the blocks and makes an awesome Modern Quilt!
- Directions will be here prior to each month we will have a lotto (lottery) for all the blocks!
WHY PARTICIPATE?
- Learn a new block pattern.
- Make a quilt for you, a lucky friend or community outreach.
- Make placemats, tote bags, and other small projects.

First Block Lotto Due at February Meeting!
START SAVING YOUR SOLID SCRAPS!
- We are going with SOLIDS…not fabrics that “read as a solid”. This means, Kona, Bella, American, etc. Whatever brand you choose, be certain that it is a pure solid and quilt shop quality. No pastels, please – SUPER SATURATED!
- Remember, make a block with integrity that you would like in a quilt to keep for yourself, donate or give to a very lucky someone!
- By keeping the colors restricted, the resulting quilts will be FANTASTIC!! I guarantee you will have a completed quilt for yourself because in addition to the blocks you make for the lotto, you’ll be addicted and make more your yourself!!!
Excited to start
- Solids will be the common thread for all months so start filling up your solid scrap box!
- Save all sizes! We’ll be using strips as well as pieces as small as 2 ½” x 2 ½” for a Scrap Ribbon Roll!
- Most importantly, you will love these blocks so much that you will be making more than one or two blocks!
