2025 Block of the Month – Choose Your Own Adventure

Did you ever read a “Choose Your Own Adventure” book when you were younger?  The basic idea is at a certain page you make a decision then skip to a new page.  That decision effects the outcome of the story.  You and your bestie could read the same book and the story would not be the same!

In 2025, we are going to make a quilt using the same blocks but based on your decisions your quilt will not be the same as your friend’s quilt!  Each month, we will all make the same quilt block!  Some members may decide to make only one block, others may make two of the same block or make a connector block.  

All the blocks are free blocks from several websites or they are blocks in EQ8.  The directions for the free blocks will be on our website each month.  I’ll give basic directions on how to piece the blocks sourced from EQ8. 

There are three different layouts for the completed blocks.  Or if you are feeling especially creative, you can develop your own layout!

I think this process will give us quite different quilts at the January 2026 meeting!  Not only will fabric choices make the quilts different but also the different layouts will help to make each quilt unique!  I can’t wait to see all of your creativity!

I hope you will join in the fun!  There will be prizes along the way for those that bring completed blocks to each meeting and patches for those that finish their quilt top by January 2026!
