March 2015 Marsala Challenge Wrap Up and a New Challenge!

It’s March, which means that our Pantone Color of the Year Challenge is over!  Three members made items featuring marsala:

And now, I think we’re all ready to start on a new challenge for the second quarter!  This spring’s challenge is to turn a traditional block into something modern!  You can easily adapt traditional blocks into a modern quilting piece by using the bright, bold colors, amping up the contrast, getting creative with your layouts, emphasizing negative space, and so on.

Here’s a Pinterest board to get your creative juices flowing – you’ve got until the June meeting to come up with something awesome.  There are no specific size or shape requirements for this challenge, only that you turn a traditional block on its head.  Have fun with it!
