May 2018 Spring Cleaning Saturday
Spring has sprung, and summer is almost here in the valley! We’re all gearing up for the big heat wave and are getting our sewing spaces all in order, and that might mean thinning down some things…. Bring your unwanted quilting and sewing items to this Saturday’s meeting to pass along to a new home (and maybe pick up a few new projects too!). Here’s how our Sewing Supply Swap will work:
Details: Bring all the quilting and sewing things that you don’t want anymore and then go home with new-to-you items that were set free by others. Hooray! We’ll drop off everything left behind at Goodwill.
ALSO: takers-only and bringers-only are welcome too! This isn’t one of those exchanges where what you bring determines how much you can take or anything like that. If all your belongings are packed in boxes or you recently experienced the life changing magic of purging everything you own and like it that way, please come anyway. Everything is freely given and freely accepted. (So don’t bring an item if you’ll feel resentful you don’t get enough in return for it…)
~~ Labeled fabric is not required, although it would be mighty useful to the new owner if you have the information~~
We will do our best to arrange the booty in an organized fashion and pace “shoppers” so everyone can enjoy the fun!
Example things to bring:
- Fabric (duh!)
- Scrap Bundles (for ease of exchange, just group them up somehow – we don’t want to leave a mess!)
- Batting
- Batting Scraps large enough for roughly 12×12 quilt sandwiches, aka practice
- Notions
- Abandoned WIPs
- Orphan blocks
- Patterns
- Sewing Books, Magazines
- Thread
- EPP Supplies
- Whatever else in your sewing room that wants a new home!
- A bag – to take all of your new goodies home in
