July 2021 Meeting Minutes

Virtual Meeting (Zoom)

President opened the meeting.

• Announced that we will be in person in a hybrid meeting in August.
• For the in person meeting, each attendee will need to sign a waiver for the Pyle Center which will be sent out to all members – masks are optional.o We will keep hybrid meetings through December 2021.

  o If you are in person, please wear a name tag

  o Guest are welcome in person to come to one meeting for free, if we don’t have a special program for members only.

  o Putting together a committee for a Charity Quilt for QuiltCon 2022 – contact Bonnie if you want to be on the committee.

  o Chair positions opening up for next year – will announce the list later this year.

  o September – we will be doing the Phoenix MQG Make it modern challenge. (changed name from Great Modern Quilt Bee) – Details will be shared 1 week prior

Secretary Report:

Motion to approve the minutes from the June meeting

Treasurers Report

• $4871 balance expected spend $1140 for rest of the year

New Member Welcome

Erika will hand out new member pins at August meeting

Charity Update

• Cindy gave the update. We have a few baby quilts that need binding, contact her if you wish to help.
• Asking for donations of solids to help balance the prints we have for the charity fabrics.

Block of the Month Chair

• Kim gave an update on the BOM and showed the blocks for the next month.
• Color page has a mistake for May, she showed the correct block

Block Lotto Chair

• All submissions were shown on screen, winner for July Cecilla Dahl.
• No need to send pictures in via email anymore, we will be in person from now on.
• Announced August Block
• If anyone is interested in helping with block lotto in the November meeting – please contact Patti.

Bee Blocks

July will be sent out next week.
