Hybrid Meeting (Zoom and Pyle Center)

President opened the meeting

Minutes from the Sept meeting were approved by Kelli, 2nd by Michelle Jensen

Treasurer’s Report by Cindy

· $550 donation received from community donation of a sewing machine last month

· Budget talk on Zoom call with Cindy (Treasurer) 2 weeks ago – not many questions. Main discussion was about programming and why so much money is allocated to that. Average cost of an instructor was discussed, as well as the fact that any funds left at YE will roll to the next year. Also, the guild is trying to build a reserve.

· Budget approved by Claire, 2nd by Cecilia

New member introductions

Chair volunteers for 2022:

Claire – challenges (will integrate with swaps)

Cynthia – new members

Michelle – social

Erika has volunteered to be VP for 2022. Kelli approved, 2nd by Michelle

Still need 2 spots filled for 2022: programs and industry liaison.

Community outreach – Bonnie has received 51 quilts YTD. 19 have already been donated to JFCS. Due date is 11/15 for 2021 YE donation. Quilts brought forward after that will be donated in 2022. 

Quilt Con quilt – Bonnie showed blocks members have donated. Also notified us Phx MQG will receive any charity workshop blocks made on the show floor during the show.

BOM – Laura showed 3 final blocks for this year’s BOM. 

Block lotto – Barb Brandt won this month’s blocks. Nov block is holiday light – you can use a variety of techniques to make it.

Patti will do next year’s block lotto also.

Diana asked about the Kona challenge quilt and Laura and Justine summarized it.
