Welcome & information from President Laura Flagler- Laura welcomed all to our PHXMQG monthly meeting.
Laura gave introduction to our Program Speaker, who was Amy Friend. Amy did a Trunk show for us, showing off multiple beautiful quilts! Her presentation was focused on her Improv paper piecing book, detailing how she makes irregular shapes out of block based patterns. She talked about her starting points, being things she might see, like deer antlers, or telephone wires. She uses those things in her vision to create visions of irregular shapes from these common objects. Amy is true artist sharing different concepts, and her interpretation of them, like asymmetry, negative space and object based. It was a lovely presentation, and you can follow her on Instagram @duringquiettime.
December meeting with be the Holiday Party, held at the Kiwanis Park -Ramada again. Saturday, December 10 from 1-3. Snacks will be provided, catered by Postinos, bring your own beverage and store-bought desert. If you wish to participate in gift exchange, bring a gift (15-20$) to share.
