November Challenge Continues!

I didn’t realize it, but posting about doing this blocks was taken as a CHALLENGE by some of our members!  So our first challenge is on.  At today’s meeting, Bonnie brought me 7 blocks (to add to my 6) so

Erin over at My Patchwork Life can get a whole donation quilt out of that.  BJ told me she has her blocks all cut, so at least one more of us has taken up the challenge.  If you want to get in on the fun, go to  http://vesuviusmama.blogspot.com/2012/11/taking-action-wanna-help.html for the specific post with a tutorial on how to make these fun and easy blocks.  If any of you want to make a block or two to add to my box, I will happily pay shipping to get these blocks to Erin–you just have to get them to me by December 1st.

Bonnie’s Donation Blocks

Since there was so much interest in making something to donate to the Chandler Police Station, our next challenge is going to be making drawstring bags for the children who may be heading to an out of home placement.  So if you want to skip this challenge and get right to that, feel free.  http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/2011/08/how-to-make-a-drawstring-bag/ has some great tutorials.  They will need to be big enough for kids to put some personal items, extra clothes, pj’s etc, into so don’t make them too small.  Bring them to the December meeting for donation!  Tis almost the season for giving!
