Today’s Meeting Highlights and Pictures (more to come later)!
The quiltalong is kicking off…start thinking about what you might want to do with the Drunkard’s Path block! (this one is Kirstin’s sample).
Pincushion Swap was alot of fun! I think the June swap is blocks–blog post to with details to come on that if you want to get in on the fun.
The emerald challenge–love all of these! Our next challenge will be announced on the blog too and anyone can join in..we will share our challenge items in three months.
The Vitamin D BEE did an awesome job on their swoon-ish blocks for Danny! Kirstin’s blocks are next and this is what she picked in lots of bright colors.
BJ and Jacki revealed out first donation quilt! New member Sarah took it home to get going on the quilting for us so we can get it to its new home. This quilt was an awesome collaboration spearheaded by our charity chairs–BJ and Jacki! Members made blocks (as did the chairs) and in record time it has shaped into this perfectly pink quilt.
We also donated nineteen filled bags for the children that the Chandler police come into contact with that are in crisis. They were happy to get them (and surprised too). Thanks again to BJ and Jacki for all the extra work (and donations) they put in to those. We are still in need of items to fill the other bags we have sewn–so feel free to bring them to the next meeting and you may win a prize!
Of course the highlight of our meeting was Alissa Clark teaching us Paper Piecing! More pictures of that to come! Thanks Alissa–you did a fabulous job and I know everyone had fun and us newbies learned a lot!
