Sara Ruiz is a NASA engineer by day and a quilter by night. She has designed a quilt based on a single rectangular block. Six sections comprising fifteen blocks complete a 50” x 60” quilt.
There are a lot of design possibilities with block placement and fabric choices. Ombre? Prints? Solids? As Sarah states, put your own spin on it!
A pattern for beginner & seasoned quilters, the ¼” seam allowances, nesting seams, pressing, and partial seams (only 1!) will result in skills built and honed with a dramatic result!
The pattern is found on the Modern Quilt Guild website and is free with your membership.
The quilt is sewn together in sections and we will be sewing blocks according to sections. Note – there are 7 A blocks and 8 B (mirror image) blocks making it easy to sew ahead 🙂
